GreenWest PtX completed regional water resources assessment
A comprehensive study evaluated local water availability for future renewable hydrogen production, supporting the project’s technical planning and long-term sustainability.
Partnerships

With the support of the Climate Innovation Voucher initiative, implemented by Greencubator in partnership with the EBRD and supported by the European Commission together with the EU Delegation to Ukraine, UDP Renewables Hydrogen has completed a comprehensive regional water resources assessment for the future location of GreenWest PtX.
Water is a critical component of renewable hydrogen production through electrolysis. Ensuring the availability of sustainable and reliable water resources is therefore an essential prerequisite for the long-term development and operation of hydrogen production facilities.
The study provides an important foundation for the next stages of GreenWest PtX’s technical and strategic development, helping to assess local conditions and support informed decision-making as the project advances.
The assessment was conducted by UTA, whose expertise and professional approach contributed to the successful completion of the study.
The study marks an important step forward for GreenWest PtX and underscores the role of international cooperation and innovation support in developing Ukraine’s hydrogen sector. The project is expected to contribute to strengthening Ukraine’s position within the future European clean energy and hydrogen market.
